My favorite Christmas gift this year was a quartet of beautiful charcoal drawings given to me by my darling Ashley, drawn by her own hand, depicting the greatest actor in the history of film, Buster Keaton.
Since I am in a Buster mood, due mostly to these awesome drawings, here is a brief scene from the first short film Buster released after graduating to his own company after an educational stint as sidekick to Fatty Arbuckle. The film depicts newlywed Buster and his wife (Sybil Seely) as they struggle to build their first house, from a boxed kit. As you might expect, it does not go according to the directions. The film is called “One Week,” and if you haven't seen it, see it.
