Richard Dawkins politely decimates a sweetly stupid creationist

Steve's New Userpic
There is an absolutely beautiful series of videos up on YouTube, a multi-part interview with Wendy Wright, president of Concerned Women for America, an advocacy group that, among other things, opposes comprehensive sex education in public schools, and champions the teaching of creationism/Intelligent Design in science classes, conducted by Richard Dawkins.

Oh yeah. Watch as Dawkins, in his politely condescending British way, effortlessly destroys every argument (if that is the word for them) Wright tries to make against the theory of evolution and in favor of her personal religious beliefs. Hearing Dawkins say “Oh really?” after Wright claims there is no evidence for one species evolving into another makes it worth watching all by itself.

I am only embedding the first of seven parts. Check out the rest of the interview on YouTube right here. Believe me, it is well worth it.

I watched all 7 of these videos... It was a long, painful journey, but I made it!

I could listen to Dawkins all day. The longer he gave Wendy Wright the worse she got.

I realize that Dawkins must have arranged to interview Wright ahead of time, but from the way it was shot, with him just walking in and introducing himself, doesn't it seem like he just showed up at her office one day?

It gives me great pleasure to imagine Richard Dawkins roaming the planet with a camera crew in tow, picking fights with creationists as he finds them. Just something that would make me happy.

I am going to imagine him roaming the planet doing interviews, too.

I am going to watch "The Genius of Charles Darwin" series presented by Dawkins. I didn't realize he had a few other documentaries besides "The Root of All Evil?".
