Hey, not everything needs an explanation, particularly if it happens to be Lazy Bastard Friday (trademark pending). In that spirit, here, for no fucking reason whatsoever, are a couple of videos of one of my favorite writers ever, Charles Bukowski.

First is this brief clip of a slightly drunk Bukowski (do I need to say that? Or is that phrase akin to “a slightly confused Sarah Palin”?) kicking his soon-to-be-wife Linda off the couch. My own theory is that if all spousal abuse was caught on camera, and was this funny to people completely uninvolved, it would not be looked upon as any sort of problem whatsoever.

And now, just to show that I admire Bukowski for things besides being a drunken wife-beater, here is a clip from the really terrific documentary Born Into This, featuring a reading of his great poem “The Genius of the Crowd.”
