Since the shooting in Arizona a few days ago, folks in the media have been talking about how the violent, harshly partisan tone of political discourse in this country could have contributed to that tragedy. I tend to think the severe mental illness of the shooter had more to do with it than Fox News (by the way, yes, declining to implicate the organization in a crazed murder spree is probably the only non-Shepard-Smith-related compliment you will ever hear me give to Fox News), but conservatives and liberals being nicer to each other in public is still a good idea.
So here I am to put my money where my mouth is. A few months ago I posted a picture wherein I said a few not-so-nice things about the fellow who, as of tomorrow, is my Maryland State Senator, Christopher Shank. It was a venting of frustration, but that is no excuse. If we really are serious about change, then we all must play our part. In that spirit, I present the following:
