Saturday, February 9th, 2013 | 07:19 am (UTC) - How Can You Like or Defend This Movie?
I saw Cosmos first-run in 1980, and still regard it as the best thing ever broadcast on television.

Having grown up in Bel Air (I'm in California, now), I'm also a big fan of crab.

But we don't agree on everything. How, as an atheist and science fiction fan, could you not hate Signs? In addition to the blatant supernatural religious overtones (i.e. "God closed his throat"), the aliens in this movie were worse than any extraterrestrial in any '50s "B" thriller or no-budget TV feature. These guys can't find their way out of a locked broom closet (literally). How do you defend yourself from these invaders? Board up your windows (and it works!) How to defeat them? Employ a lame trick purloined from the Wizard of Oz.

Hey Steve.

I have done a little bit of reading on the topic of Captain Marvel (DC), what is your take on Captain Marvel (Marvel) and his back story compared to the DC version? I could also certainly ask who you like more and why as well.

I assume you know the back story; the DC Cpt. Marvel was a character made before Marvel comics really came into its own, Shazam being the result of that fallout.
