Youhoo, only me...
Great video again! How do you stomach some of the stuff you've read? I force myself to finish reading: you start out younger with an open mind, but then you realise the implications of what you're reading as you get older... and there are very strong implications with this stuff...

Its the eschatology that is the annoying thing: that eschatology and belief in negative outcomes serves to justify the 'anything goes' mentality, which is approved of by the 'repent/confessional' mentality.

Basically, god is the only entity with absolute free will in the entire multiverse: therefore we must all either live in some sort of compatibilist quantum state (think Cheshire cat superposition) of highly marginalised will, or else we have no will at all and do what we do because we must.

Sure, at this stage, it appears the universe will "big crunch" or thermal atrophy, and we haven't solved the fermi paradox or Alcubierre drive... but there's the potential to solve those problems, and for things to get a little better before they get truly worse...

Christians like to claim ownership of Bob Malthus, trot out the likes of Dickens and try ever so subtly to convert you... they really don't like it when you bring up the persecution of science and the tradition of colonialism/intolerance...
