i really enjoy watching the series agents of shield also and find it silly when people criticize the show for not focusing on any popular marvel superheroes when it's about shield and it's agents. okay first question: suppose the popular tv writers of 50's and 60'slike rod serling for instance were alive today and had a choice of not just doing regular tv or cable but actually doing a series on netflix , what do you think that would be like ? have you ever listened to any songs performed by the rock band the cult like go west , a flower in the desert , bad medicine waltz , love , she sells sanctuary , rain , wild flower , li'l devil , love removal machine , sun king , fire woman and edie ( ciao baby) ? third and final question: speaking of carl sagan's demon haunted world do you think that they should adapt it for television like they adapted cosmos? yours truly corey donaldson the free thinker from lethbridge , alberta , canada.

Hi Steve,

I discovered your "five stupid things" videos quite by accident and became hooked. I have since come on to your website and have watched some videos and read some of your stuff. It's great work. I did want to ask you a few things for "You Had to Ask" simply out of curiosity. I have a love of baseball, movies, and Batman in common with you, so I wanted to ask your opinion on a couple of things.

First, I wanted to ask you who you think would be or would have been the ideal actor to play Batman on the big screen? I ask because I have always felt that Harrison Ford was the ideal guy-he embodied all of the characteristics to play the part-he was certainly qualified to play Bruce Wayne, and he has flashes of rage that always hint at something underneath. And, since Bruce Wayne pretends to be bored to death with his life, and since Harrison Ford always acts like he's bored to death with fame, fortune, and the love and adoration of his audience, Ford could portray the supposed ennui of Bruce Wayne without even acting. Obviously he's too old for the part now, but I think Ford circa 1980-85 would have been perfect. So who's your choice? I prefer an answer other than "I don't give a fuck."

Second question is about baseball. I would like to hear your thoughts on all of these BS "curses" like the Cubs "curse" (Billy Goat) and Red Sox (Bambino.) I personally can't stand them. I think they're phony for one thing (both were invented by sportswriters).
They also offer quick, easy, cheap excuses for failure. If you fall short, it's the fault of the "curse." So if you have a rant in you about curses, I'd love to hear it.

Last question, I promise. This is about your "Five Stupid Things" videos, specifically the music at the end. I know you didn't compose it, but your choice is curious. I say this because the line that is played sounds suspiciously close to a line from the hymn "Beautiful Savior." If you are familiar with it, the line of the hymn "Jesus is fairer" sounds the same as your end music for Five Stupid Things. The instrument also gives it a church-y feel, as well. Was this a conscious choice on your part? And is it your way of being an ironically hip atheist?

Hey Steve,

I just submitted the last comment to you (Batman and curses). I can't go back and change them, but I want to apologize if they seem confrontational. I thought about what I wrote and they sure seem that way. I didn't mean to come across that way, honestly. I guess I was just mixing in my opinion with my questions, but I am open to any answer obviously, or I wouldn't be asking you.
