Five Stupid Things About New Year's Resolutions

My suggestion: instead of a New Year's Resolution, simply learn one new skill a year. Start at the age of 20, and by the age of 40 you'll know how to do at least 20 cool things.

In your video you mentioned "learn a language" as something that people resolve to do, but that's a really bad example, because you can't learn a language in a year, and any learning will require finding other people to practice it with anyway. Now learning how to make a number of good Spanish dishes ... ? A lot more realistic, more practical, and it could even impress people.

The other year I learned to use a bow (yes, a crappy one I made out of PVC, but it works). This year I'm learning how to build simple electronic circuits that involve transistors. Next year ... ? I'll worry about it then.
