Best. Ending. Ever.
Friday, October 19th, 2007 | 10:00 am [film, library, video]
In case I haven't mentiond it, the classic horror movie triple feature is tomorrow at the Smithsburg Library, starting at 5 P.M. Show up. We're showing Horror of Dracula, Frankenstein, and The Wolf Man — a classic Hammer and two classic Universals. Beat that, Smithsburg High School Homecoming!

To whet your appetite for what you'll be seeing (or more likely, what you'll be missing, you non-horror-film-watching fucking loser), here's a YouTube video of the thrilling climax of Horror of Dracula, without a doubt the most exciting ending to any horror film, ever. That's Christopher Lee, of course, as Dracula, and the great Peter Cushing as Van Helsing. I hope I'm not spoiling the ending by showing you this. The vampire dies.

Bask in the awesomeness:

very cool
I remember watching that as a kid
do you know the one that ends with
the vampire walking over a frozen river and than
falling into cracks in the ice?

Yes! That's Dracula: Prince of Darkness from 1966, the second time Christopher Lee played the part. Another classic ending, with Father Sandor shooting the ice to crack it, drowning Dracula.

Thanks to the miracle of YouTube, that awesome scene is online as well, right here.
