San Francisco Giants slugger and all-time home run champion Barry Bonds has been indicted by Federal prosecuters for lying under oath to a grand jury about using steroids. Federal investigators obtained evidence of Bonds testing positive for anabolic steroids during a September 2003 raid of the now infamous Bay Area Laboratory Cooperative, but when questioned by the grand jury, Bonds denied ever using or testing positive for steroids.
If convicted of the charges contained in the 10-page indictment, including perjury and obstruction of justice, Bonds faces up to 30 years in prison. And may I say it could not happen to a nicer guy? Read the proper news story written by an actual journalist here.
YouTube is full of videos relating to Bonds and his steroid-fueled ruination of the national game, but below is my favorite, by YouTube user avkranichfeld. Gotta love that score from Requiem for a Dream.
