Today is Friday the 13th, which, if you are not a superstitious loser, means absolutely nothing to you.

Unless you happen to be a devotee of the Friday the 13th film franchise . . . which I am not.

Not to say I have never watched a Jason movie, and certainly not to say I have never enjoyed one. They are all among the shittiest, bloodiest, most mindless films in the history of American cinema — what is there not to love? I have never gotten how anyone could possibly take Friday the 13th movies seriously, but it is not hard to see why people enjoy them.

So with that in mind, and to mark the . . . holiday? occasion? whatever the fuck it is, here is a clip from Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan, the entry most reviled by die-hard fans of the franchise. Maybe that is why it has always been my favorite. Or maybe it is this scene of Jason knocking some dudes head off:
