The new book by Richard Dawkins, The Greatest Show on Earth, comes out in the U.S. on September 22. As an admirer of Dawkins, I’m anxious to check it out. This one takes a broad view of the evidence for evolution. It sounds to my ears like a Cosmos for biology. If that is true, and I’m not just totally talking out of my ass on that one, it should be a great read. How great is it to have someone like Dawkins around, a brilliant, serious scientist who is also able to translate important principles so that morons like me and you (sorry, but come on, you know it) can grasp them, demonstrating the grandeur and beauty of the natural world as it actually is?
Answer: Pretty fucking great. Below is a video preview of the book, featuring clips from an interview with Dawkins, describing what the whole thing is about.
