An hour or so ago I was sitting on the toilet reading the Bill of Rights when it occured to me how superior it was to the Ten Commandments. The first ten amendments to the U.S. Constitution are more useful and more relevant to our lives than the old decalogue is, or ever was, or ever will be.  One of these days I will get around to making a YouTube video comparing the Bill of Rights to the Ten Commandments and illustrating why what the Founding Fathers came up with kicks the shit out of what God supposedly handed down.

Until then, we have Christopher Hitchens, who, taking some inspiration from George Carlin, I think, appears in this 10-minute video to first demonstrate why the Ten Commandments are not all that fucking great to start with, then to suggest ten rules to live by that make a lot more sense than the ones you find in various places throughout the Old Testament.

Mr. Hitchens, the floor is yours.
