So I’m getting married today. I’ll be taking a few days off from the blog (for the first time ever!) to enjoy the good life with the wife.
Don’t forget to get out and vote on Tuesday! (Unless you’re not in the United States. As far as I know, no one else is having an election on Tuesday. Which is good. That would be copying.) I was going to write up a voter’s guide, but fuck that. I’ll just leave you with a few brief thoughts as far as politics go. If you are still undecided over who to vote for, and you think you’ll wind up having to choose between the two major parties, remember this:
Though specific beliefs and priorities differ depending on the individual, a Democrat, fundamentally, is a person who believes that government has an important role to play in promoting public health and safety, regulating industry, and creating equality of opportunity and economic and social justice. And a Republican, fundamentally, is a person who doesn’t want to be a Democrat.
I’m off to marry the girl of my dreams now. Next time I see you, I’ll be typing with a ring on.
Thanks in advance for the heartfelt well-wishes and congratulations which will surely fill the comment section of this article by the time I get back.
