Flair is the best. My favorite matches were those that happened in the late 80's, while still in the NWA. His battles against all the baby faces there were epic. They would have hour long matches against the top contenders. I almost came to expect it that he would bloody his face and hair like that every time too. I used to root for the Four Horsemen at any given time. I did enjoy the face matches too, but not when they were facing the Horsemen. Remember Nikita Koloff? How about when Lex Luger and Barry Windham formed a tag team? How about that Starcade 87 match between Luger and Dusty Rhodes in the cage? Gritty matches, lots of blood.

No doubt. I'm going to review some old NWA matches in upcoming editions of this series. Flair and Barry Windham had a series of 60-minute draws in '87, including one shown on World Wide Wrestling that is on one of the Flair DVD sets. Just an amazing match.

I'm with you. I think Flair was the best there ever was. He worked with everybody, he always gave it everything he had, and think of how many stars he made (or tried to make, at least): Sting, Luger, Steamboat, Windham, and on and on and on.

I can't deny Flair was a great wrestler but everything I read about his personal life makes me a little bit sad. It's like he's living the life of an obnoxious frat guy but is 40 years too old.
