Ya know.....it actually IS a lot more cost effective, in the short run, to just bury a domestic violence victim, rather then to run the abuser through the legal course and hold him accountable.(yes, I use what appears to be sexist pronouns because 95% of victims are female) But the naive prosecuters in Kansas were not considering the cost of foster care for any children involved. That's a very expensive item, and Kansas is also having financial problems in regard to keeping social services going. You mentioned, at another point in your post, in relation to Ron Paul, the possibility of decriminalizing certian drugs. If.....not heroin.......but marijauna were decriminalized, and the judicial system was not constantly embroiled in litigation involving marijuana, do you think they might save enough money to charge and prosecute domestic violence thugs? It's just a thought. Even here in Kansas, I think the decision to stop prosecuting prohibition laws involving marijuana would have been more popular than what Topeka did.
