I have an idea about why this book might have been harder to get through than the others. I think it's because it isn't an apologetic. Encountering arguments, analyzing them, and refuting them is intellectual exercise (even if the arguments themselves aren't any good) and that's just fun for the brain, you know? A book like this, on the other hand, instead of making arguments simply gives orders and offers platitudes. So a response to it requires less intellectual rigor, beyond a wide vocabulary that includes many synonyms for "contemptible."
