They're all good news points, thanks for sharing!
20million years does seem rather quick for life to diversify and broaden so 'suddenly': was there much discussion in that paper about environmental conditions at the time, or other contributing factors - any speculation as to why such rapid change occurred, steve?
The last point about life around saturn- It'll be interesting to see what comes from detailed study of that moon... It could be another step towards conclusive proof one way or the other of how spontaneous chemical reactions might lead to complicated lifeforms (and thus another vote towards a chaos theory perhaps?). It might also lead to making Drake, Fermi and Maxwell equations more accurate perhaps for incidence rates and types of life...
