hi ya Steve,

I watched this video a couple of days ago, and I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know that I am that militant atheist professor that guys like Broocks and Strobel keep running into on airplanes. I'm sorry I keep making us look bad. I promise that I'll put my Philosophy PhD. to use next time and be better prepared. Damn! How is it that I keep getting seated next to these guys anyway? Next time I'm going to go Greyhound.

Sorry. After hearing your riff on Broocks' encounter, I couldn't help but think of a trope I have noticed in self-help books (I have read sections of a few). The guru who writes the book always tells the same story-that one of their clients is a big, famous, A-List Hollywood Star who has everything-money, power, fame, you name it, Hollywood Star has it-but they aren't happy, they're deeply insecure, they need help, they're still unsure of themselves, they're scared of being exposed as frauds, etc. That's where Self-Help Guru steps in and helps them with their lives. I bought into it the first time I read one of those books. By the third time, I figured I was being conned.

So, just wanted to drop this line. keep up the good work, I enjoy your videos, especially "Five Stupid Things."
