What goes around comes around, as cancer

Steve
I stayed at my Granny’s last night and caught about ten minutes of The O’Reilly Factor, which was plenty for me, thank you. The subject was all the despicable, contemptible left-wing bloggers who have expressed their approval of the cancer currently overwhelming the organs of White House Press Secretary Tony Snow. Writers at The Daily Kos and Huffington Post recently published “fuck Tony Snow” type articles, which O’Reilly and his guest, conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, found just appalling.

So Tony Snow is a nice guy. So the reporters at the White House press briefings whom he’s fed a daily diet of bullshit seem to like him. So he’s married and has young children. Lots of other people are diagnosed with cancer every day, they have wives or husbands, children, only they don’t make their living apologizing for a White House that started a war that’s gotten 3,500 Americans and God only knows how many Iraqis killed. All the shit kicked up by the likes of O’Reilly and Malkin and John Gibson strikes me as incredibly disingenuous. As if bloggers on the right would send Paul Begala an avalanche of sympathy cards if that mealy-mouthed little cocksucker was dying of cancer. As if Karl Rove wouldn’t be the first to piss on James Carville’s grave.

Speaking of which:  Cancer, may I nominate Mr. Rove for when you’re through with Mr. Snow?

Tony Snow is a smart guy, a good hand with a microphone, a good presence on camera (unbearably smug, but that just puts him on par with everyone else in television news) – he could’ve done anything with his career. He chose to stand behind a lectern and lie to the press and the American people for a dishonest and dishonorable president. So yeah, fuck Tony Snow. He’s going to die of cancer and his children are going to grow up without their father. It’s too bad for them; they couldn’t pick their father. All the same, I’d rather give my sympathy to the thousands of children in this country and the tens or hundreds of thousands in Iraq who don’t have fathers or mothers because of the people Tony Snow’s spent the last year covering for. If Snow’s as nice a guy as everyone says he is, maybe he’ll spend the time he’s got left with his family instead of issuing talking points and trying to spin the offenses of an immoral administration. I hope every time he sees his kids he realizes what a waste the last year of his life has been.

Washington, D.C. is one big cancer. The country would be better off without it and the politicians and lobbyists and criminals that inhabit it. I’ll cross my fingers that Tony Snow’s just the beginning; not just another guy with cancer, but the universe starting to correct itself.

You need to get a life. I'm not sure you have ever seen someone die of cancer. You are a left wing looney.

I beg to differ, sir or madam. Would a left wing looney call Paul Begala a mealy-mouthed little cocksucker? I think not.
