At the 2007 Pittsburgh Comicon this past weekend, they were giving these posters away for free. That is, these same posters without the text. There was a stack of them on a table located at each entrance. The stack never got smaller. I don't think anyone took one.

If you cannot give away free Star Trek posters at a comic book convention, the franchise is officially dead.

Yeah, barring a really, really impressive showing from this new Abrams-directed flick, I'd say the ship has sailed on Star Trek. The last film, Nemesis, was a horrible, horrible movie and a box office flop, Enterprise was only occasionally watchable and got canned and saw its finale turned into a holodeck adventure for Commander Riker, and the big idea to rejuvenate the series is yet another sci-fi prequel? Kirk and Spock in their younger days. Why not take it all the way back to when they were kids? Jim Henson's Star Trek Babies. It couldn't be any worse than Nemesis.

And she loved it. ;)

I posted on your Heath Ledger as Joker article, which I found through the Dark Knight.

Good to see you still going strong on the ranting front. As I said on the post, it got me all misty-eyed for the Gotham News days. Long time ago now.

Anyway, I'll try and drop by from time to time. Good to see you getting ahead with everything.

Dad, I told you to keep your sex life to yourself.

Good to see you're still around, too, DR. I check in at the Gotham News every so often, but there's usually nothing going on. Drop by and leave me vulgar, vitriolic comments whenever it strikes your hilariously accented Aussie fancy.
